Accessibility
Handicap parking and special needs:
Parking for the handicapped has been made available very near to the main entrance (following the drive through ticket gates) of the show. Please display your handicap placard so the parking volunteers can direct you to the correct parking area. If you have trouble walking from your vehicle there is a tram service from the parking areas to the main gate.
A limited number of power scooters, electric wheelchairs and manual wheelchairs will be made available for veterans and those with disabilities inside the main entrance gate. However they are available strictly on a first come first serve basis. A valid driver’s license will be required to secure this particular service.
Individuals who may already have scooters or wheelchairs may bring their unit to the show for their personal use (for use at their own risk.) However due to certain insurance restrictions the general public will not be permitted to use or operate golf carts during the show.
Advice for Spectators
Plan your travel and arrive early
When planning your trip to Wings 'N Wheels Air, Military & Vehicle Show allow extra time for travel to the airport. Fort Pierce will be filled with excitement and activity as spectators, pilots, re-enactors and volunteers make their way to the airport. Your cooperation and patience will help everyone have a great air show experience.
Wear the appropriate footwear and clothing
March in Fort Pierce can be warm, so for your own comfort plan on wearing light weight clothing and comfortable walking shoes. Because the airport is large, you may have to walk longer distances than usual, don’t take or carry heavy items with you. Only small bags will be permitted into the event. Be sure to bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen (SPF 30+). If you have forgotten any of those items or wish to purchase new, a wide array of air show merchandise and product will be available for purchase at the event.
Safeguard your tickets
If you have purchased your tickets in advance, treat them like cash. Lost, stolen, or forgotten tickets will not be replaced or refunded. All spectators must have valid ticket or credential to enter the air show.
Items that may not be brought into the show
Large bags, skate boards, roller blades, coolers, food and drink will not be permitted into the air show. There will be no coat check or storage available at the air show so it is important to be aware of what you can or cannot bring.
There is no re-entry
Once you have entered the air show you will not be able to leave and return.
Health and Safety
There will be a well marked first aid station centrally located at the show site. Please refer to your souvenir program site map for the exact location. Location will be clearly identified. First Aid signs along the show line will point the way to the first aid station.
Spectators should prepare for a day in the sun by wearing sunscreen, as well as a hat & sunglasses. They should also drink an adequate amount of water to avoid dehydration. For your convenience, water and beverage concessions will be available along the show site.
Lost Children
Parents are advised to take extra care during the show. With large crowds expected, a lost child can be hard to find. If you are taking children, tell them if they get lost to find a sheriff’s officer, firefighter, or an air show volunteer. Efforts to reunite them with their parents or guardians will be coordinated through the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Department at the show information tent near the center of the show site. Parents should know what their children are wearing and have photos of them.
Smoking at the air show
For the safety of the public smoking will not be permitted near any of the aircraft displayed at the show, seating areas or in the queuing of the show line.
Pets and Jets
Wings ‘N Wheels strongly discourages attendees from bringing pets to the airshow. The displays are for the most part on black asphalt which even on spring day gets very hot, there is little or no shade, there are many loud and unfamiliar noises and large crowds. Also if the animal were to break free from its owner, it would be very difficult to retrieve on an active airport with active runways and taxiways. Unfortunately an airshow is not the best place to bring a pet.
